Child Care Leave Rules – Key Points:
- So, all women employees, like teachers too, get to enjoy 60 days of Child Care Leave rules (CCL) through their whole job life.
- The Andhra Pradesh government gave the nod in G.O.Ms.No.209 on 21-11-2016.
- These 60 days are on top of 180 days of maternity leave.
- Women can take CCL in at least 3 parts. But don’t worry, each part doesn’t have to be 20 days exactly.
Important Guidelines:
- At least: Got take it in 3 parts.
- The Most: Use the whole 60 days if you want.
- How many parts you break it into is up to the woman on leave.
- Even a small, itty bitty one-day leave counts under CCL.
- This leave can be used until the oldest of the first two kids reaches 18.
- If a child is more than 40% disabled, leave lasts till they’re 22.
- If a mom has more than two kids, only the first two kids count for CCL.
- Leave gets approved only if the child lives & depends on the mother.
- Can use it for exams, if the kid gets sick, or other child needs.
- Can’t just be for exams or illness—it’s against policy.
- Not something you automatically get; requires approval from someone in charge.
- No need to show certificates when you ask for it.
- Can pair CCL with other leaves but not Casual or Special Casual Leave.
- Prefix & Suffix stuff for OCL applies to CCL too.
- Get your pay for this leave time based on what you made before.
- Keep CCL separate from other leaves; don’t mix them up.
- Write down CCL days in the Service Register.
Examples:
- 58 + 1 + 1 (3 times – that’s fine)
- 57 + 1 + 1 + 1 (More than 3 times – also fine)
- 59 + 1 (Less than 3 times – not fine)
- 30 + 30 (Less than 3 times – not fine)
- Even if it’s 1 + 1 + 1 up to 60 times, it’s good if it’s at least 3 times.
